Reception For Local Radio Pioneer September 15th

From Dave Keene W5DBK:

The Fannin County Amateur Radio Club and other area clubs will host a reception for Dr. Robert Carrel on Saturday, September 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Bonham (located at at 8th and Star). This reception is to recognize Dr. Carrel for his contribution to the field of radio communication with his co-invention of the Log Periodic Antenna.

The log periodic antenna played a major role in improving broadcast TV reception, and continues to this day to make major contributions to amateur, commercial, and governmental communication services around the world. Dr. Carrel has been a resident of Fannin County for many years, and he and his wife Kay have given a helping hand to many Fannin County organizations. Please stop by, listen to Dr. Carrel relate some of the research leading up to the design and application of the antenna, and shake his hand.
